This is so good! I like the design and artstyle and well ofcourse the story. It inspires me to cosplay the characters from the series and I can't wait for part 02!!!
Okay, WOW! It's been a while since I've felt this excited and intrigued by a komiks! MAHARLIKA really builds up the story and suspense-I kept trying to figure out how it would end, but even after finishing Book 1, I still have no idea (in the best way)!
I love how it weaves in Filipino songs, Baybayin, and even mentions Indonesia as a neighboring country. I also caught some Trese vibes-especially seeing Sinag pop up multiple times (I was geeking out!). And let's not forget the Filipino food-it was such a treat to see those cultural touches. Plus, that subtle yearning of seeing someone from the past you once liked but never admitted to? Chef's kiss.
The pacing is perfect. You can tell there are so many more stories to tell. It's not your generic "save the country" plot-it's layered, intriguing, and the characters are all so compelling. Every page pulls you in, and by the end, you're left wanting more. It's such a breath of fresh air!
Seeing this first in PICOF, I was instantly hooked with the visuals as I am curious with the story. I, of course, bought vol. 1, regretting that I didn't buy the other issues but looking forward for the vol. 2! (Sayang Sir Rexy di po kita naabutan that time, sir Sir John Ray lang hehe) As a fan of both anime and cyberpunk, this definitely hits the spot. Great characters and their development. I am craving for more back story of Akira and his gang, The Liwanags. etc. The story keeps getting better and better, as I've said super bitin ako! Thank you for existing honestly, this comic gives hope to all Filipino komikeros that they can also have a masterpiece like this. Mabuhay po kayo! Can't wait for more!
Disclaimer lang I'm just a newbie in comics and I'm not really a good writer but I just want to express my thoughts about this amazing series. Thank you again po!
Excellent world building, and I really enjoy how the expositions come not too late and not too early. Each end of the Volume/tracks leave me wanting more. I wish the background lore and history of this alternate world would be explored more in future material! Ang galing rin how the you can portray the characters’ ethnicity through your art style alone. I’ve read everything you’ve put out so far and I am so excited about the future of this series (sana maggrow into a franchise 🙏🙏🙏). I’m definitely going to drop by soon at Middle Ground to add a physical copy of Vol. 1 to my small collection. Excellent art and writing overall, pagpugay sa inyo!
I love the subtle, not-too-alienating scifi worldbuilding, especially with how the Philippines would look like in the future. Love the equal-parts plot- & character-driven story, & the underlying mystery in volume 1. Cool characters, the ensemble cast is already well-established within just 5 issues/tracks. LOVE the clean & crisp linework of the illustrations, & how the Baybayin writing system is incorporated as "comic book sound effects," & love how the action sequences were drawn with dynamic lines. Looking forward to the future volumes/issues/tracks. Kudos to the creators/writer & artist! :)
AAAAAAA & it's a nice surprise checking this Substack now that tracks 6-8 are now free to read. The last time I checked this Substack, they can only be read with a paid subscription, or my not-tech-savvy self just didn't know how to access them back then if they were always free, lol. I will read them now, thank you! :)))

I’ve started collecting pinoy comic books again and I’ve been eyeing this one. The art style is 🔥!
Incredible art and the worldbuilding is top-notch!
The art keeps leveling up???
John Ray is on that grindset
Things are moving so fast in the story but the wait between chapters feels so painful lol… give me more!
More is on the wayyy
